Evaluating Sources

In order to determine whether a source is high quality, ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Is it RELEVANT?

    • To Google, or not to Google? That is the question! Use this tutorial to help you find relevant sources. 

    • Practice identifying relevant sources with this Zombie game

  2. Is it RECENT?

    • Avoid sources written more than 10 years ago. 

  3. Is it REPUTABLE?

  4. Is it READABLE?

    • Be honest with yourself. If you can't understand the article- move on to one you can!

 

Generating Search Terms

Don't just type sentences or questions into a search bar. Consider how search engines work, and adapt to fit their processes.
